VILMA TALVITIE 
SOLO

Vilma Talvitie is a Finnish singer, pianist, performing artist, composer and lyricist. As a composer, Vilma creates musical bridges between pop and folk music, merging Nordic and European folk stories and her own compositions, influenced by Eastern-European singing techniques. Vilma´ s debut solo album will be released on 13th October 2023.

In her solo project, Talvitie explores the dialogue between voice, movement and body. In her vibrant solo performances, she uses her audio-visually intriguing instrument PianoBodyPercussion, which combines vocals, piano keys, body percussions, percussions and dance.

This is modern, timeless pop, with the pedaling of folk music and perhaps a bit of the boundlessness of world music as well[...] Our world is based more and more on ideal images that we see everywhere in our mercantilist reality. That hanging contradiction can also be heard in this song, where the music plays the bigger, freer and more limitless the closer it is to self-excitement.
